Talent shows often feature choirs, but the 133-strong, all-boys choir from Wales that graced the stage of Britain’s Got Talent is a different breed altogether.

What sets them apart? Well, for starters, they’re all lads!
Ranging in age from 16 to 19, these young men hail from the South Wales Valleys, a region grappling with unemployment and limited opportunities.
United under the baton of their charismatic conductor, Tim Rhys-Evans, they form the ensemble known as “Only Boys Aloud.”
But this choir is more than just a musical endeavor.
“We set up Only Boys Aloud not only to sing but to do something positive with their lives,” Tim Rhys-Evans declared.
The boys look up to Tim as a mentor and firmly believe that with the right mindset, they can achieve anything.
When their moment in the spotlight arrived, Tim and two choir members took center stage to introduce themselves.
The crowd was already buzzing with excitement, a fact that judge Amanda Holden didn’t overlook.
Tim passionately spoke about the choir’s commitment to preserving the tradition of male singing in Wales, hoping it would endure for another century.
Tim raised his arms, and the opening notes of “Calon Lân” filled the air.
Two young soloists took turns delivering the lines, their voices brimming with emotion.
But the real showstopper was yet to come.
Suddenly, the remaining 131 choir members flooded the stage, joining their comrades in a harmonious blend that breathed new life into the song.
Their collective voice reverberated through the room, touching the hearts of everyone present.
Despite the choir’s large size, they managed to deliver a performance filled with raw emotion and perfect harmony.
When the boys stepped forward to amplify the song’s intensity, the crowd erupted in cheers, many wiping away tears.
Amanda Holden was quick to share her thoughts: “Oh my goodness, you’ve brought a lump in my throat and a tear to my eye.
I found that really moving. I loved the song choice! Well done.”
Fellow judge David chimed in, stating, “We really were looking in this show for a really great choir, and you are that really great choir.
It was fantastic.” Simon Cowell also had high praise for the group: “I have got a very, very good feeling about you lot. I really, really love what you did.”
The room burst into applause as all the judges gave a unanimous “Yes,” propelling the choir to the next round.
The boys were over the moon, and rightly so. This was a moment they would cherish forever.
Tim Rhys-Evans had not only given them a platform to showcase their talent but had also transformed them into better versions of themselves.
