9-year-old girl finds an abandoned baby in her backyard: “It’s a miracle that he was still alive!”

We just need to have the instinct and the desire to give birth to a child, the fruit of our love – motherhood is one of the greatest gifts Mother Nature can give us.

In short, being a parent, and more specifically a mother, is not easy, nor is it as natural as it seems. It is true that some women get pregnant by mistake or unwittingly and do not know what to do with their pregnancy.

There are many women who abort their unborn children legally within the allowable time limit; others choose adoption services; and others abandon them wherever they can, exposing them to substantial risks to their lives and safety.

There is a tragic event of this type happening in this incredible story about a 9-year-old girl named Elysia.

9-year-old Elysia Laub at first thought the pink limbs wriggling in her grassy Indiana backyard were those of a little pig.

WISH-TV reported that the girl has two pigs. I thought they had a baby.

It was late Monday morning, and the summer heat was already rising. Still unsure of what she had found, Elysia ran inside.

“Mom,” she replied. “Something is in the yard.”

Outside, Heidi Laub discovered what her daughter had found: a newborn baby between a field and a row of trees.

Her mother and daughter immediately called for help and the newborn was rescued and taken to the hospital, safe and sound and under the close observation of the medical team.

In the earliest speculations, the mother of the newborn was a teenager who was on the run and probably didn’t have any support from her family, friends, or the community as a whole.

The baby probably was born only hours before she was discovered.
She may have stayed there overnight, according to the sheriff. Her body was wrapped in a black towel.

The newborn was nicknamed “infant Jane Doe” and their “miracle baby.” The sheriff named Elysia the baby’s “guardian angel.” The baby, with brownish-blonde hair, was taken to a local hospital where she was evaluated and was determined to be healthy, full-term, and in good condition, aside from sunburn.

The mother of the abandoned baby has yet to be found despite an extensive search with police dogs and a helicopter.

The child will be placed in foster care.
We don’t know what would have happened to this newborn child if it hadn’t been for Elysia. It is fortunate that all ends well, and we all hope the teenage mother will repent and find the support she needs from her community or family.
