After bringing his mistress to the company party, the husband announced that he wanted a divorce. His wife immediately moved on to Plan “A,” then Plans “B” and “C.”

He Brought His Mistress to the Party and Announced Their Divorce — His Wife Already Had Plans A, B, and C
“Think carefully before you say another word,” Angela warned quietly, turning her champagne glass between her fingers.
Denis smiled. At last, his wife was paying attention to him.
The corporate dinner had been organized to celebrate his promotion. After five years of fighting for recognition, Denis had finally been appointed head of the reinforced-concrete production department. His salary would increase significantly, and he already felt like a different man.
But the promotion wasn’t the only surprise he had prepared.
“I said I’ve been promoted,” Denis repeated loudly enough for everyone at the table to hear.
Angela raised her eyes.
“No. That isn’t what you said. Repeat the other part.”
Denis glanced at his friend Yegor, who gave him an encouraging nod. Then he looked toward Nina, the attractive woman sitting beside him.
Angela knew perfectly well who Nina was.
Denis had introduced her as a colleague.
In reality, she was his mistress.
Taking a breath, Denis finally said:
“We’re getting divorced, Angela.”
Silence fell around the table.
Angela studied him for several seconds.
“Maybe we should discuss this privately?”
“No,” Denis replied firmly. “My decision is final.”
Angela immediately understood.
Plan A had failed.
She had hoped Denis might reconsider once he was forced to repeat his words in front of everyone. Instead, Nina gave him another approving smile.
So Angela moved to Plan B.
She smiled warmly.
“All right, darling. You made your choice. Congratulations on your promotion.”
Then she stood, collected her handbag, politely said goodbye to everyone, and walked out.
Denis stared after her, confused.
He had expected tears, screaming, perhaps even a glass of champagne thrown in his face.
Instead, Angela had simply left.
Outside, however, her calmness disappeared.
Five years of marriage had just been destroyed publicly, as though she were an unwanted employee Denis had decided to dismiss.
But Angela refused to beg.
She called her friend Yulia.
“He announced the divorce in front of everyone,” Angela said. “And he brought his mistress.”
Yulia was instantly furious.
“What are you going to do?”
Angela was silent for a moment.
“Do you remember Plan B?”
“You’re serious?”
“Completely.”
“And if that fails?”
“I still have Plans C and D.”
Her first call after that was to a friend who knew a locksmith.
“I need my apartment lock replaced tonight,” Angela said. “I’ll pay double.”

Then she called another friend, Yana.
Within an hour, Yana arrived with her husband Valery and a stack of empty boxes.
The apartment belonged entirely to Angela. She had owned it before marrying Denis, and he had no legal claim to it.
They immediately began packing his belongings.
Shirts, shoes, documents, books, toiletries—everything Denis owned went into boxes.
While Yana packed, Angela opened Denis’s laptop.
Then she called her mother-in-law.
“Larisa Gennadyevna, I wanted to let you know that Denis announced tonight that he is divorcing me. Since the apartment belongs to me, he will no longer be staying here.”
There was a stunned pause.
“You mean… Denis is coming to live with me?”
“That depends on him,” Angela replied sweetly. “I simply wanted to warn you.”
She hung up before her mother-in-law could protest.
Then Angela opened a folder on Denis’s laptop labeled “Résumé.”
A slow smile appeared on her face.
Meanwhile, another part of her plan was already moving.
Yulia’s husband, Rodion, visited his father, Danil Valentinovich—the owner of the company where Denis worked.
Rodion carefully explained what had happened at the corporate dinner.
“Denis brought his mistress in front of his wife and subordinates,” Rodion said. “Then publicly announced the divorce. Whatever his personal life is, that kind of behavior sends a terrible message to employees.”
Danil Valentinovich listened silently.
After Rodion left, he contacted several employees who had attended the dinner.
The story was confirmed.
The next morning, he summoned the company lawyer.
Back at Angela’s apartment, Yana finished packing the last boxes.
Valery transported them to a rented storage unit.
Angela then called several of Denis’s friends.
“I thought I should warn you,” she told each one. “Denis and I are divorcing. I know he owes you money, so perhaps you should ask for it back before things become complicated.”
By ten that evening, everything was ready.
Angela sat quietly in the dark when she heard Denis trying his key.
It didn’t work.
He called immediately.
“Did you change the lock?”
“Good evening to you too,” Angela replied calmly.
“Open the door!”
“No.”
“What?”
“Check the mailbox. There’s a key inside.”
Denis hurried downstairs.
“It’s the key to a storage unit,” Angela explained. “All your belongings are there. I paid for three days.”
“You can’t do this!”
“The apartment is mine, Denis. You announced we were divorcing. I’m simply respecting your decision.”
“You expect me to sleep where?”
“With your mother. Your mistress. One of your friends. You have options.”
She ended the call.
Denis reluctantly went to his mother’s apartment.
Larisa Gennadyevna greeted him with fury.
“You’ve completely lost your mind!”
“Mom, I’m exhausted.”
“You’ll sleep in the kitchen.”
Then Nina called.
Her voice was unusually excited.
“Denis! I can’t believe you sent my father that video!”
“What video?”
“The one where you said I’d become your wife!”
Denis froze.
At the party, after Angela left, someone had recorded him talking drunkenly about marrying Nina.
Apparently, that recording had somehow reached Nina’s parents.
“I’ve already said yes!” Nina exclaimed. “Mom and Dad expect you for dinner tomorrow at seven.”
Denis barely managed to answer.
Then another call came.
It was his friend Eduard.
“I need the money you owe me by Friday.”
Before Denis could explain, Eduard interrupted.
“Your divorce isn’t my problem.”
Soon Yura called.
Then Stepan.
Then Pavel.
Every friend Denis owed suddenly wanted repayment.
By morning, Denis was desperate to get to work.
At least his career was going perfectly.
Or so he thought.
The moment he arrived, the secretary said:
“The director wants to see you.”
Denis entered Danil Valentinovich’s office smiling.
Five minutes later, he walked out unemployed.
The company lawyer had identified grounds for dismissal related to his conduct and violation of corporate standards.
Denis was stunned.
His promotion had lasted less than a day.
He hurried to his computer, planning to send résumés to other companies, only to discover that his access had already been terminated.
Then his phone began ringing.
“Your application has been rejected.”
Another company called.
Then another.
Denis suddenly realized what had happened.
He called Angela.
“You sent my résumé!”
“I wanted to help,” she replied innocently.
“What did you write?”
“Almost nothing. I only added that you recently divorced, publicly appeared with your mistress, and were very happy about it.”
“You ruined my career!”
“I only wrote the truth, darling.”
Denis screamed threats, but Angela calmly ended the call.
Later, he traveled to the storage unit.
Inside were about twenty boxes.
“Where is everything else?” he shouted when Angela answered.
“The sofa is mine. The refrigerator is mine. The computer is mine. Most of the appliances are mine. What’s in those boxes belongs to you.”
Furious, Denis kicked one.
Something shattered.
“Oh,” Angela said pleasantly. “That may have been your mother’s favorite vase.”
By evening, Denis returned to his mother’s place, only to discover another problem.
Her car was gone.
“You took my mother’s car!” he screamed at Angela.

“My car,” Angela corrected. “I bought it and merely allowed her to use it. Since we’re no longer family, I took it back.”
Denis sat outside afterward, staring into nothing.
In one day, he had lost his wife, apartment, promotion, job, friends, and access to a car.
Then Nina called.
For one second, hope returned.
Instead, she screamed:
“My parents waited for you for two hours! You didn’t even call!”
Denis suddenly remembered the dinner.
“I forgot.”
“Then forget about me too!”
She hung up.
That was the final blow.
Desperate, Denis decided there was only one thing left to do.
He returned to Angela’s apartment.
When she opened the door, he lowered his voice.
“Forgive me. I made a mistake. Maybe I drank too much champagne. Please, let’s fix this.”
Before Angela answered, a man’s voice came from inside.
“Should I take my clothes off?”
Denis turned pale.
Angela called over her shoulder:
“Yes, get undressed. I’ll be there in a second.”
Then she looked calmly at Denis.
“Was there something else?”
He said nothing.
Angela closed the door.
Inside stood Valery, Yana’s husband.
Angela handed him an old shirt and trousers belonging to Denis.
“Change into these. Then help me move the furniture.”
Valery laughed.
“For a second, I thought you actually meant I should undress.”
Angela burst out laughing.
“Yana would kill us both.”
Outside the closed door, Denis finally understood.
He had tried to humiliate his wife publicly and walk away believing he controlled everything.
Instead, in less than twenty-four hours, the life he had taken for granted had disappeared.
As the old saying goes:
Whoever digs a pit for someone else may eventually fall into it himself.
