The American version of “The Voice” may be on hiatus, but “The Voice Australia” is just getting warmed up! During one of the first blind audition shows of the 12th season, viewers were treated to a special performance that has the entertainment world buzzing. Levi X is a 15-year-old singer and saxophone player from Brisbane, Queensland, whose version of “Seven Nation Army” by The White Stripes knocked our socks off!
The second Levi starts to sing, judge Rita Ora’s mouth falls open in surprise. She’s clearly delighted by the young singer, and she’s the first to flip her chair around. Next is singer Jason Derulo, who also looks impressed by the teen’s performance chops.
Levi opted to join Team Rita, but only time will tell how he does during the rest of the competition. Since he’s already got gigs lined up for months, we’re certain he’s going to do okay, no matter what.
Watch Levi X singing “Seven Nation Army” in the player below, and share this story so you can say you “knew him when!”
