A man captivates shoppers by playing Beethoven in the store and stopping shopping carts in their tracks

Yu, a talented pianist, stunned shoppers at a Costco store when he decided to sit at the piano and play Beethoven’s “Virus” in front of an audience of people pushing shopping carts. The video of the impromptu performance, which was uploaded to YouTube on July 3, 2020, has since gained over 2.9 million views and more than 69,000 likes.

In the video description, Yu explained that he was on a regular trip to the store to get some free samples when he noticed the grand pianos on display. The Yamaha representative at the store kindly allowed Yu to try out the piano, and he proceeded to play the level five version of “Beethoven Virus” with ease. As he played, shoppers paused to watch, creating a small crowd around the piano section.

Yu’s fingers moved gracefully across the keys as he played, and he even described the sound of the shopping carts as a perfect addition to the “chaotic symphony” he was creating. His performance was met with enthusiastic applause from the Costco audience. Despite the unexpected setting, Yu’s piano skills were captivating, drawing in shoppers who may not have expected to witness such a beautiful performance during their trip to the store.
